Capacity Building Program
SalusWorld believes in building the capacity of local organizations on the ground already doing work in their home countries. We therefore train and dispatch degreed mental health professionals to train local, onsite individuals and teams in establishing and managing sustainable psychosocial programming and interventions. We recognize that many want to serve; few have the time. Our model is based on this recognition. We place people onsite for eight week periods after which we follow-up with remote communication and/or another placement.
Onsite consultation, as well as ongoing consultation relationships with our international partners, is facilitated by the use of the latest communications technology available to on-site project managers, local authorities, NGO directors and international teams.
We base our psychosocial program development on a local needs assessment and evaluation of difficulties that face the community in which we are working. We might offer anything from simple information dissemination to treatment, care and prevention for the global AIDS pandemic. However, any program with which we are involved will be a part of a comprehensive solution rather than emergency measure in order to bring people beyond the level of survival and help them experience life with ever increasing depth.
