SalusWorld is presently looking to expand its roster of highly qualified mental health professionals to offer support to international and local organizations as well as their staff and beneficiaries. Supporting displaced Shan in Northern Thailand is our primary project placement at this time. Deployment lengths will vary according to need. In addition to sending volunteers abroad, SalusWorld is also looking to have mental health clinicians available to support humanitarian organizations working internationally via telephone counseling and/on online support from the volunteer’s country of origin.

SalusWorld in an international NGO (non-governmental organization); its mission is to stand with victims, humanitarian workers and other activists to facilitate a return to a healthy emotional life after setback due to loss or injury caused by war, political conflict, natural disaster and epidemics.

The available positions are at a volunteer level and offer a unique time limited international humanitarian experience to the volunteer consultant. SalusWorld seeks to train and dispatch gifted teacher-trainers who can, among other duties, teach and support local indigenous organizations about topics such as trauma, support, health, wellness and recovery. Candidates with scientist-practitioner graduate training in psychology, social work or psychiatry who are licensed, license-eligible, or who have significant hours towards licensure are preferred, although all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will likely be able to count their hours towards licensure as we have many licensed individuals on staff. We especially welcome applications from individuals who address issues of ethnic diversity in their teaching or research and are interested in contributing to current literature and research.
